I made the first hat for myself.

I just wanted something that worked with a cochlear implant — especially on the tennis court in the Florida heat.

Then others started asking for one.

When I began hearing from parents and adults who said it helped, I realized this wasn’t just about me anymore.

Helping them meant something. It became something more than me.

That’s how Ear Free became more than a personal project.
